    Creating new Presentation-

    To create a new presentation in power point follow the steps.

    Step -1 Click on the new option from the file menu.

    Step 2- Select the new blank presentation option in the backstage view that opens and click on the create button.

    Step 3- This starts a blank presentation on the screen in which by default there is only one slide.

    Step 4- On this slide we insert objects as per our requirement and add different types of effects on them.

    Step 5- In the presentation, according to your requirement, you insert a new slide and prepare your presentation.

    Step 6- After the presentation is ready, we use the slide show button given in the status bar to show it.

    Inserting Deleting and Copying of Slide

    Inserting Slide-

     In power point, we can insert any number of slides as required in our presentation, for this we follow the following steps.

    Step 1- Select that slide, after which a new slide has to be inserted.

    Step 2- Click on the new slide option of the Home tab.

    Step 3- This opens the list of various slide layouts, out of which we select any layout so that that slide gets inserted in our presentation.

    Deleting Slide – If a slide is not needed in your presentation, it can also be deleted, for this, select that slide and press the delete button.

    To copy a slide, follow the following steps.

     Step 1- Select the slide which is to be copied.

    Step 2- Click on copy option from clipboard group of Home tab or use its shortcut key ctrl+c.

    Step 3- Keep the cursor at that place. Where the slide is to be copied

    Step 4- Click on paste option from clipboard group of Home tab or use its shortcut key ctrl+v.

    This slides past the cursor position, but its design depends on the slide present before it. If we want to copy the slide of the same cleansing, then the duplicate option is used under the copy option of the clipboard group of the home tab.

    Working With Notes – Each slide can have notes related to it.

    To create Notes Pages follow the following steps.

     

    Step 1- From the view tab, click on the notes pane view option.

     

    Step 2- This shows the slide notes in the pane view and the note pane appears with the slide.

    Step 3- In this we type the notes as per our requirement, if we want to display the notes page on the screen then use the following method.

    Step 1- Click on the slide show option given in the status bar or use the different slide show option given in the slide show tab.

    Step 2- As soon as the slide show starts. Let's click on slide show ctrl button on the screen.

    Step 3- In the list that opens, click on the speaker notes option, this displays the notes page along with the slide in the slide show view.

    Working With Handouts –

     We can also print the slide as a handout. 2.3.6 or 9 slides can be printed simultaneously on one page in the handout. Which is used for further reference of the audience. Only slides are shown in Handouts. To print the handout, follow these steps.

    Step 1- Open the presentation whose handout is printed.

    Step 2- Click on the file tab. By which we come to the backstage view of the file tab.

    Step 3- Here click on Print option.

    Step 4- By which all the options related to print are visible in the right side of the window. Here in the print what section, select the handout option.

    Step 5- Here we also have to determine how many slides to print in a page.

    Step 6-Finally click on the Print button, which starts the printing of the handout.

    Working with columns And List –

    To add a column to the slide, follow the following steps.

    Step 1-Select the slide in which to insert the column.

    Step 2- From the insert tab, click on the table option given in the tables group.

    Step 3- Select the row and column from the drop down list that opens or insert the table using the insert table option given here. In this way we can insert table in any slide and enter data in it.

    Like the table, a list can also be added to the slide. To add a list to a slide, follow these steps.

    Step 1- Select the slide in which the list is inserted.

    Step 2- Select the bullet or number option from the presentation group of the Home tab.

    Step 3- The bullet or number selected from this gets inserted in the slide.

    Step 4- Here we create the list by inserting items as required.

    Adding graphics, shapes, screenshot, smart art and chart in a slide – To make your presentation attractive in a slide, graphics, pictures, clip, art, important screenshots, charts and smart art can be inserted in it. To insert any graphics in your slide, follow the following steps.

    Step 1- Open the presentation in normal view.

    Step 2- Select the slide in which to insert graphics.

    Step 3- Click on the shapes button given in the illustration group of the Insert tab.

    Step 4- This displays a gallery of shapes on the screen, from which we select any shapes and insert them into the slide.

    Step 5- On selecting the shapes, the drawing tools format tab is displayed.

    Step 6- In which tab do you select the effect using the shape effect option given in the shapes styles group.

    Step 7- Similarly we can add effect on it by inserting other shapes.

    In Adding Sounds And Movies to a Slide –

     slide we can also insert sound and movie as per requirement which are played in slideshow view. To add sound to a slide, follow these steps.

    Step 1- Select the slide in which to add sound.

    Step 2- Click on the sound option from the timing group of the Transition tab.

    Step 3- Select any one sound file from the list that opens and click on other sound option.

    Step 4- This opens the dialog box named add audio on the screen, select your sound file and click on the open button, in this way you can add sound effect to any slide.

    Similar to Sound, any movie file can also be inserted in the slide.

    Adding movie –

     To add a movie or video to the slide, follow the following steps.

    Step 1- Open your presentation in normal view.

    Step 2- Select the slide in which to add the movie.

    Step 3- Click on open video from media group of Insert tab. This opens a drop down list on the screen which has the following two options.

    1- Online video 2- video in my Pc

    1]- Online video - This option is used to search and add online video.

    2]- Video on my pc – By clicking on this option, a dialog box named add video opens, in which we can select any video file and insert it in our presentation. We can also use clip art media as a video.

    Change slide backgrounds –

     By default, any slide is displayed with white background, we can change the design of the slide using the themes given in it and if we want to change the background of the slide, then for this follow the following steps |

    Step 1- Select the slide whose background is to be changed.

    Step 2- From the background group of the Design tab, click on the background styles button.

    Step 3- This displays the list of backgrounds on the screen.

    Step 4- From here we can select any background and apply it on the slide.

    Using Animations And Transition In a Slide –

     Animation and transition effect is very important for a presentation, which can make our presentation more effective or attractive. Animation effect in a slide is applied to various objects in it. For this follow the following steps –

    Step 1- Open your presentation in normal view.

    Step 2- Select the text or object on which the animation effect is to be applied.

    Step 3- Select and apply any animation given in animation group of animation tab.

     In this way we can give animation effect on any text or object. Similar to animation effects, transition effects can also be added to slides.

    Step 1- Open the presentation in the normal view.

    Step 2- From animation tab select any transition effect given in transition to this slide

    Step 3- Using the transition speed option given here, we set the speed of the transition.

    Step 4- Similarly we can add transition effect to other slide also. And the next slide can be displayed on click using the on mouse click option. Or by using the timing option, the slide can be displayed automatically.

    Step 5- To add timing to the slide, set the timing of the slide by checking the after checkbox from the timing group of the transition tab. In this way we can add different types of effects to a slide.

    Designing and Presentation of a Slide Show –

     In Powerpoint, a presentation is designed and shown as follows, for this the following steps are followed.

    Step 1- Add text and graphics as required in the presentation slide.

    Step 2- To give animation effect on the slide, we use the options of animation tab.

    Step 3- To add transition effect to the slide, we use various slide transition options of the transition menu.

    Step 4- To insert a new slide in the presentation, we use the new slide option of the Home tab.

    Srep 5- Add effect to it by inserting slide as per requirement.

    Step 6- To make the slideshow run automatic, set the timing between the slides.

    Step 7- After the presentation is completely designed, to run it, use the slide show option of the status bar or use the option of the start slide show group of the slide show tab.

    Printing Presentation –

     In Power point, we can also print our presentation, in which in addition to slides, notes pages can also be printed, to print a presentation, follow the following steps.

    Step 1- Open the presentation which has to be printed.

    Step 2- Click on the file tab, which brings us to its backstage view.

    Step 3- Click on this print option, which shows all the options related to print in the right side of the window.

    Step 4- Through the printer option given in it, select the name of the printer from which to print.

    Step 5- Under the setting section, we determine which slides of the presentation will be printed.
